Does anyone know the difference between stock drums and the police package?

Was it the semi-metallic brake shoes and they needed a different drum?
Anyone have part #'s?

Thank in advance

The Canadian parts book says nothing about police brakes but it does list standard or metallic linings.

Front drums
3872384 metallic
3872326 standard

Rear drums
3869537 metallic
3868801 standard

I hope that helps.

Metalic linings from the factory used a sintered iron drum instead of cast iron to compensate for the accelerated wear caused by the metalic linings. They were found on HD brake optioned cars such as police vehicles or station wagons (which is noted as such in all Raybestos brake catalog as as a foot note that stated *(all except police or station wagon).

Dave... can you still buy the drums? I would think there is a company out there that would have semi metallic shoes.
