Hello!

New to the forum and need some advice.
I have an opportunity to buy a 2 owner 67 Impala 2 door hard top. It has a 327 / 275HP engine, 400 Turbo and a 12 Bolt Rear. It has factory AC that blows cold. The car came from New Mexico 3 years ago and completely rust free. Has around 150K on the odometer. It's not the original paint but is in decent condition. The interior is black and clean but could use some seat covers and a freshening up.
What's a fair offer? I like the car but don't want to pay more than I could get back out of it later.

Thanks in advance,
Dan

I was going to say $6500-$8000 but it looks like I'm a little light there. Cars sell for a bit less where they are commonly rust-free (eg. West/Southwest) compared to the rusty areas of the country.
The 327 might be a $500 bump but honestly, how can it mean very much if it's a high-mileage motor that will be in need of a rebuild anyway?

the one exception is California. I've got a search pattern I run daily for parts and cars for 65-70. on average, California seems to be about triple the price on everything sold anywhere else in the country

You'll probably get the purchase price back staying under $15k but you'll never recover what you put into the car after purchase.

Just wondering if you all realize that the original post was more than 14 years ago.
