anyone know much about the impalas made in Canada?

I have one with a canadian VIN and the cowl tag shows made in Quebec.

Any comparison to their US cousins?

Can you post a pic (or link to a pic) of the tag? Would like to see it!

It's the same circumstances as the "Aussie" rhd Impalas that came here, yours was Imported from USA in a kind of kit form (there's a name for it, I can't remember, someone will know it), but fully assembled, painted, trimmed etc etc in Canada.

The kit you are referring to is the "Complete Knock Down kit" or "CKD kit". Actually, this is not the case for the St Therese plant. According to Warren L. of Impalas.org --> "All St Therese 1967 Chevrolet's were completely built in Canada aside from some components only built in the states like the big block engines. And as far as I know, all of those cars were exported to the US where they were sold."

You can request the original option breakdown and more from vintage vehicle services since it was built in Canada
Yep, my 71 Pontiac Parisienne was a St Therese car as well. Short Impala wheelbase, not the long Bonneville. 350 Chev/TH350 factory (Chevy blocks in Canadian Pontiac was very common). They were completely built there.

Yeah, you're on it BigDog, that's what it's called. From what I understand, and it is hard to find out much information, the cars were shipped to Australia in containers, with the rolling chassis in one container, the body from firewall back in another container, and all the body panels & so on in yet another container. All the glass was locally supplied & fitted along with the carpet & seat coverings etc. All the I.D. & compliance plates were also fitted here, unfortunately there's no historical database for reference at all.

What you're saying about Canada manufacturing the whole car makes a lot more sense too, the Aussie Impalas came from Canada, not the US. From what I understand GMH (General Motors Holden - Australia) was only able, at the time, to import from another Commonwealth country.

this is correct. my '67 was built at that plant, shipped to a dealer in Maine, Warren has the tag info on it.
