Thanks for the fast reply. I contacted Eaton and Randy’s Worldwide and both said these springs were obsolete, and the only option is search on a forum or maybe locate some at a flee market. I’ll keep searching.

I also ordered some from Summit and they were way to short, so I returned them.

Hi I also have a 66; but a chevelle that came with a 327, PG, 308 posi from DANA. So this post has my interest. My Posi doesn’t work properly. I was able to run down a new NOS clutch pack. No luck on springs to date or someone to rebuild the posi. It’s still in the car.

I was wondering what years this unit was used if you know and or what cars may have a unit installed? Also how do you know if springs are bad? Thanks

Not sure how many years this unit was in use or what vehicles used it, maybe someone one the forum can help. My situation was 2 of the springs were removed and wanted 4 new ones to get it back the way it should be. I think one of the previous owners removed 2 springs because it chattered while turning, most likely there was no limited slip additive added to the gear oil.

Here is a photo of my posi, the ring gear had been changed around 1997, I only recall it had two springs, maybe mine also had a pair removed. I did find some original drawings from when the patent was filed by the designer. Not sure where I put them . Do you have the same Dana number stamped on the case.

That a Dana 23630x dated 7 12 65 A. Mine is 24885x dated 11 23 65 A, if i’am reading everything correctly. My posi was not working; thus I removed cover for inspection. I bought the car in 2019, so no history of what was done other than the gear change to 3.55 from 3.08. Now you have me thinking my springs were also removed or I remember incorrectly or I remember looking at the patent incorrectly all all of the above.
