Can anyone recommend a reasonable front disc brake kit for a 1967 impala?

👌
The problem with aftermarket conversion kits is they use smaller 11" rotors, which were designed for the Chevelle. Full size Chevrolets used larger 11¾" rotors. This does not seem like much, but it is a big difference.
Here is my suggestion: Swap in disc brakes from a 1969-70 Chevrolet Impala/Caprice. These use the 11¾" rotors and single-piston floating calipers. I just picked up a set from a local self-serve wrecking yard. They do still show up from time-to-time, so be patient...

I used one of the smaller diameter conversion kits... they do have the power to lock up the front brakes and I haven't had any issues with heat soak but I drive the car very cautiously and leave a TON of room for braking typically.

I have heard this statement before, and while I agree a bigger rotor will be better for multiple reasons, I'm not so sure the smaller ones are an issue on cruiser vehicles.

The '69 and '70 Disc Brakes are the best idea, but one reason why I didn't suggest it is that they are getting very hard to find. To find some in your local salvage yard, you will have to be very lucky (like BigDogSS, lol). It's worth a try though and also check online. About the only negative is that you will have to switch to 15 Inch or larger wheels.

Take note though that you will need everything to switch over including the Spindles.

A little late to the party, but I'd avoid "The Right Stuff" kits if I were you. I started there too, but there is so much slack and grind to the installation that I couldn't bring myself to trust my life and others with it as a daily driver. The Wilwood kits bolt right up, and are very well engineered. Got them on all four corners now. The C3 kits like Brickwhite is showing are much better than the Right Stuff kits as well - Almost went that route, but went full restro-mod on my rebuild instead.

How was it?
I’m planning to get one too
These are for a future project. I have not installed this set yet. However, My 1967 Impala SS does have a set of disc brakes from a 1970 Impala for over 15 years and they work great!
