just saw this on the Classic Industries website

is this right about the differences between the standard and the SS? (standard has cove lights while SS has stamped metal cove inserts)
my 67 convertible non-SS w/283 and PG has the stamped metal inserts and not the lights

I've got a U.S. 1967 Impala brochure & the only models shown with corner lights are the Caprice Custom Sedan (4 Door H/T), Caprice Custom Coupe and Caprice Custom Wagon.
The only models shown with the blacked out vertical sections in the grille are the SS Convertible & the SS Coupe.
So, to be correct they should actually be offering a third kit with the Non SS Grille paired with the Non Corner Light fill ins.

that's kind of what I thought. I've had mine for 30 yrs and I doubt it was in a wreck where the front clip was replaced so...

I do have the non-SS hubcaps and they use the same similar blackout scheme for the spokes and an SS center insert that is convex for the non-SS center insert that is concave

Hubcaps are a little bit difficult to compare in the brochure in relation to concave or convex. But it does look like there are also some other subtle differences. If you can post a photo of the hubcaps you have I'll try and tell you what model had them.

I can tell you the differences there.
1) the center plastic insert is convex vs concave
2) the SS insert actually says SS, the non-SS is plain with just some trim around the edges
3) the metal of the hubcap itself has similar blackout markings like the grille

if I find 2 of my caps together I'll post a pic. might be awhile, though, since it is Final Exam week

Hey guys,

Thanks for pointing out this discrepancy in our blog article. We wrote the article when the first two grill kits came out (for Impala SS with corner fill ins and non-SS models with the corner lights). Two more grill kits have been added since the article was written (Impala SS with the corner lights, non-SS models with the filler trim). We're having our writer amend the article to reflect all the possible options for the 1967 grill kits.

I can tell you the differences there.

No worries, sounds like you've got it sussed. Mine's got Rallye's so all good. Nice of Gabe to take the time to respond too, respect.

Technically, only one grille was available over the parts counter. The “Impala SS and SS427 scripts” grille had blackout painted at the factory, if you got a replacement grille, the SS blackouts had to be painted, all grilles came the same on B bodies “Chevrolet” script was to the drivers side as was the Impala SS, SS427 was front and center.
Had absolutely nothing to do with the RPO T-78 fender lights or not, although the RPO T-78’s were standard on a Caprice, you could order them on on a Biscayne if you checked the box. They were NOT a Caprice only option.
Any badging on a grille was bolted on from the backside with brackets and pal nuts.

My convertible has factory wire spoke hubcaps.
