Hello everyone! New guy here from cen cal. Me and my wife recently purchased a 61 biscayne 4dr flattop from a friend of mine. Looking forward to learn a lot more about these cars and potentially find some parts. Thank you!

Welcome to the forum. ! Love the dual antennas and that airbrushed top? Very cool. Your car looks pretty solid from the pics. What are your plans for it? There are lots of resto parts available for '61s, BTW, '61s are my second favorite, after the '65s of course 😉

My only plans for it for now are to put some reverse supremes on it and some white walls. Just trying to figure out the right configuration because I’m not to smart when it comes to offsets and backspacing 😂. Then eventually paint it white and leave the blue top and give her the good ol ls swap for reliability

Welcome! Super cool Biscayne! 1961 Chevrolet is my favorite, after 1967s, lol. My nephew has a 61 Bel Air 2 door flattop, so I'm familiar with these cars. I see you have a 1-piece rear bumper (as opposed to a 3-piece). Is your front bumper also a 1 piece? These are known as "California bumpers" and are desirable. Good Luck!

I know nothing about these cars so I had no idea there were different styles of bumpers lol here is a picture of the front of the car. Im going to assume that it’s a 1 piece bumper as well but I have never really paid attention to it 😂

Yes, your bumper is a 1-piece. Here is an example of a 1961 3-piece bumper:

Your car is sporting 235-6 emblems. Is the six cylinder still in it? These engines are pretty much in demand.

It is actually. Original motor never rebuilt. Same with the 2 speed trans. I just had to have the rear main seal and oil pan gasket replaced. Debated pulling it out for an ls swap for reliability but just haven’t pulled the trigger on that yet

Purchased a set of 14x7 reverse spoke wheels for our baby yesterday. Changes the whole look of the car. Need to clearance the rear wheel tubs a little bit since it is rubbing the white walls at ride height but dammmnnn it looks good. 😂
