Does anyone know how to remove the padded section on the dash of a 1967 Impala?

I recently took out one on a '68. There are Studs and Nuts in many different places. You will have to take out the Glove Box and possibly the Speedometer Cluster. The one on the '68 I was working on was already out, which made it a whole lot easier.

Thanks again. Can you share any more info on putting this 396 in this 67. Remember it had a 327 before. 396 out of a 69 Chevelle will the oil pan and motor mounts be the same?
Some will say that you will need to Short Mounts for a Big Block, but the regular Tall Mounts, which you probably have, will work fine. In '65 and '66 all the engines got the Tall Mounts. There is only something like 3/8 of an Inch difference. Unless Hood Clearance would be an issue (non-original Intake and Carb), there will be no problem. Not sure on the Oil Pan as mentioned, but by the numbers you listed, it looks like your engine was most likely in a Full Size car as it has a Police Code, that is if it still has the original Pan. But I would just try to lower it down and see if everything clears before you bolt it all in.
Thanks Bill. Your a life saver. Wish we could meet in person some day. Chuck
