Remove top with frame from a 69?
Doing some interior, trunk, and floor pan work on my 69 Impala and it would make my life much easier if the entire top assembly were out. Is this a feasible option?
There seem to be no instructions in the several assembly manuals I have.
I don't need a new top, just need this one out of the way for a while.

Yes, I would say that you can, by separating the Cloth Top at the back end first, but try just lifting the Top straight up and let it park that way first. It will be out of your way that way and much less work to boot.

Yes, the body is coming off this winter. The top will be replaced so I am not worried about damage to the vinyl.

I had a Sikh roommate in college for 18 months. Great guy but he could never get through an air port today as he carried 14 knives on him all the time.
